Anime St. Pete is turning 5! What started in 2022 as a brand-new convention has become five years of anime, incredible cosplay, big-name guests, vibrant vendor halls, and fans coming together in St. Petersburg. ASP has become one of Florida’s beloved family-friendly anime gatherings.
We’re celebrating the 5th annual Anime St. Pete on September 26–27 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront with some special anniversary fun. Every attendee receives:
ASP26 features a packed lineup of voice actors (Naruto, Digimon, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, and more!), cosplay contests and activities, J-Pop performances, and panels as well as exclusive shopping deals with artists and vendors. This year’s expanded programming gives fans plenty to see and do throughout the weekend, with Saturday’s programming going 10am-10pm and features late night bar lounge and pool fun.
In 2021, St. Petersburg was Florida’s fifth-largest city, yet it had no fan conventions, while much smaller Florida cities from Fort Myers to Ocala to St. Augustine had multiple good fan events. Convention organizer Dewey Caruthers decided enough was enough – he set out to transform St. Pete into a fan-convention hub. Anime St. Pete and St. Pete Comic Con launched in 2022, followed by Sunshine City Scare and Holiday St. Pete in 2023—giving the deserving city four annual fan conventions. Not many cities can boast four annual fan conventions, each with its own theme: comics, anime, horror, and the Xmas holiday.
